Self Worth a powerful tool

In my recent talk with the Daimond Beuties, a group hosted by Sanet van Breda  privilege to speak about self-worth, and on this post I am sharing my notes as well as the recording. here

What is  self worth?

A sense of one’s own value as a human being.

Author J Cambell said the following.

"You can be the most beautiful person and everybody sees light and rainbows when they look at you – but if you yourself does not know it, all of that does not even matter.

Every second you spend on doubting yourself, every moment you spend on self-criticizing is a second of your life wasted and a moment of your life thrown away"

These are 3 closely related concepts that sounds the same but they are not exactly the same.

  1. Self-confidence.
  2. Self-esteem.
  3. Self-worth.
What is the difference between those three?

How you feel about yourself based on mood, circumstance and approval of others is your self confidence. In psychology, the term self-esteem is used to describe a person's overall subjective sense of personal worth or value is your self esteem. Your self worth lies on a deeper level on your consciousness and it forms part of your belief systems

Most of us from time to time experiences al low self worth especially if we have gone through some bad times in our past. we grow up with some painful experiences and as a result of that our self worth takes a dive.

These are the causes.

  1. Childhood abuse and Trauma
  2. Neglect
  3. Growing up in poverty
  4. Alcoholic or sick parent.
  5. Divorced parents.
  6. Negative core beliefs.
Have you ever heard yourself say there words?

  1. I`m unlovable
  2. Everyone else is better than me
  3. I am broken and no one can repair (help) me.

Meister Eckhart 12th century mystic said:

The eye with which I see God and the eye with which God sees me is the same eye, one seeing, one vision."

The truth of this is, the eye with which I see and experience the whole world and everyone in it is the same eye with which the world and everyone in it sees and experiences me – in other words I am projecting how I see and experience myself unto the world and every one I come in contact with.

How do I change my self worth.

  1. Go inward, explore what is inside and work on what is inside and be brutally honest with yourself. (Spiritual Practice)
  2. Do not allow the expectations and the opinions of other people determine your self-worth. – set healthy boundaries.
  3. Create a space for grace – be gracious with yourself, stop the voice of self-criticism and allow yourself to make mistakes and correct them.
  4. Speak to your subconscious mind in a positive and affirming manner, through prayer, affirmations and mantra`s.

“You must make certain to give your subconscious only suggestions, which heal, bless, elevate, and inspire you in all your ways. Remember that your subconscious mind cannot take a joke. It takes you at your word.”

― Joseph Murphy, The Power of Your Subconscious Mind.

If you forget all I said, try to remember these words of Albert Camus

My dear,

In the midst of hate, I found there was, within me, an invincible love.

In the midst of tears, I found there was, within me, an invincible smile.

In the midst of chaos, I found there was, within me, an invincible calm.

I realized, through it all, that…

In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer.

And that makes me happy. For it says that no matter how hard the world pushes against me, within me, there’s something stronger – something better, pushing right back.

Truly yours, Albert Camus”

The magic of the Hawain Prayer Ho'oponopono

Healing your self-worth by loving yourself  Dr Lekalakala Hew Len used it to treat a hospital wing full of mentally sick patients without even coming in contact with them

I Love You, I'm Sorry, Forgive Me, Thank You

Ho'oponopono Healing – Ancient Hawaiian song.

Ho'oponopono (pronounced HO-oh-Po-no-Po-no) refers to an indigenous Hawaiian prayer for healing through forgiveness. The word literally means “to make right” with self and others. Ho'o means “to make” and pono means “right”. The second “pono” indicates the need to make things right both with one's self and others.

I Love You, I'm Sorry, Please Forgive Me, Thank You: Ho'oponopono

In his book Zero Limits Joe Vitale relates the following conversation.

"I asked Dr. Len how he went about healing himself. 'I just kept saying, 'I'm sorry' and 'I love you' over and over again,' he explained. Turns out that loving yourself is the greatest way to improve yourself. And as you improve yourself, you improve your world."  ~~ Author and Inspirational Speaker Joe Vitale on the ho'oponopono healing process

I Love You, I'm Sorry, Forgive Me, Thank You

These four little words, if prayed as a mantra daily will heal your self worth and restore your confidence, and how you feel about yourself and improving yourself starts with loving yourself.

Be blessed and have a great healing experience
